APC Overnight MD Ivor Skinner retires and leaves an enduring legacy
21st December 2011

Wolverhampton, UK, 21 December 2011 – APC Overnight has announced that Ivor Skinner will retire from his position of Managing Director, a position he has held for the last three years. Under his leadership, APC has grown into a £58 million turnover company with pre-tax profits of £3.4 million. Each month APC delivers 1.4 million parcels nationwide – and the company is on course for another record year in 2012.
When he took over the role as MD in 2008 it was a critical time for the economy with the worldwide recession looming, and this would prove challenging not only for APC but also for all businesses in general. With this in mind APC required a focused and determined individual to step up to the plate and Ivor Skinner was certainly the man for the task.
Ivor Skinner’s strong leadership has helped APC weather the storm of an ongoing deep recession and guided the company into record growth and success. The results speak for themselves. His enthusiasm, drive, people skills and passion for success have all helped APC rise above the challenges presented by the recession and increased the company’s service levels and increased the company’s size and stature in the parcel industry overall. He has taken the business to such new levels that APC are relocating to a larger hub building next year to accommodate the growth.
The APC legacy that Ivor Skinner has created includes the company’s imminent move to a new £14 million purpose-built sortation centre in Staffordshire. The 128,000 ft2 national hub will more than double APC’s capacity and is essential to meeting the high demand from customers. Although retiring, he will continue to be very much involved in the company as a main Board Director.
