APC deliveries help Platt Packaging grow business by 75 per cent

Wolverhampton, 24 January 2012 – Reliable on time, nationwide deliveries by APC Overnight have helped Platt Packaging Limited grow its business by 75 per cent. This business transformation is the result of a special parts assembly and packaging contract from an award winning central heating systems manufacturer that requires Platt to provide a turnkey manufacturing and distribution service.
Platt receives the raw materials and assembles the final product before packaging. Thousands of the products are then distributed throughout the UK to central heating specialists and installation engineers by APC.
“This is an extremely important contract for us and the delivery service we provide through APC is all part of the package. We need to get the parts to customers quickly and reliably and we are pleased to say that APC provides the essential logistics support we need. The local APC depot in Aberbargoed goes the extra mile to meet our requirements, which in turn keeps our customers happy,” says Rosie Platt, Commercial Director.
Platt books parcel collections online using the NetDespatch system installed by the local depot. This is quick and easy to use and generates the shipping manifest automatically. The web-based system also prints the shipping labels and provides track and trace. Platt also uses the system for proof of delivery.
“The system links us to APC and removes a huge amount of manual admin and phone calls. It keeps all our shipping information in one place and we can quickly interrogate it if we need to follow up on any query,” adds Rosie Platt.
Established in 1984, Platt Packaging Limited is a private family-owned company that packs and repackages goods for a wide range of clients and produces thermoformings for retail sale. The company’s packaging services include blister sealing, shrink-wrapping, skin packing, hand assembly, labelling, bagging and custom packaging. The thermoforming division specialises in the manufacture of blisters, blister edge bending, trays, panels, clams and bespoke packaging to ISO standard.
